Untitled 6

You make my soul
feel
the thrum of quick heartbeats
under your fingertips,
the flush of

longing

lust

love,
the shivers
that reach my very core.
Within
those waves of
incessant kisses
irrepressible vocality
irresistible pleasure,

the tethers I had so
carefully tied around my heart
come undone
and I become lost in

the moment

my emotions

in you.

378 Days

You once said
that you could only write
of the concept of love as
a hypothesis
made solely from
the observations
of love lorn friends pining away
and characters on the screen
that kill and cheat and die for it.

It's been 378 days
since love
wasn't just hypothetical anymore;
would you have gathered
the words to explain
the complexities
that still elude me?

Regrets and Frustration

Laments override
logic as his
words spill out in endless
paragraphs on the computer screen;
full of
past regrets,
past mistakes,
current love,
current regrets,
future prospects in the dozens
with possible future regrets;
too many things for
one girl to wrap her
head around
and she's glad
he can't see her fists clenching
and her typing growing into violent
stabbing of the keyboard
and she wishes that
the problem would solve itself--
--alas,
another notification on the screen
presents itself
and she can't close the computer on him.

The curse of the softhearted friend.

Untitled 5

My life is just
a procedure to
be repeated,
no useful function behind it except
to exist and be
recursive upon itself.
A program,
predictable,
nothing except pseudo-random events
that only comes when
called.
If I had the option
would I
relocate and
clear screen?

I guess I lied when I said I would post more often. Sigh...
School is stressful (hooray for crunch time!), I'm expending all of my creative energy towards drama scripts and rehearsals. Excuse the pessimistic tone this poem headed towards...I suppose I'm just tired.

However, I do still have enough to take photographs and work on the novel North by North (it's over a year old now!). I'll try posting more photos (I keep on forgetting!), but in the meanwhile, check out N by N :D
G and I would appreciate it.

Happy New Year!

Hello everyone!

Yes, this poor blog is severely neglected, but hopefully that'll change over the course of 2013.

It's pretty amazing how much things can change over the course of a year. Finding new friends, new love, new interests and new projects are all things that happen over the 365 days, and I guess you don't really realize how much things have evolved until we're back at the beginning of the calendar and looking back at the past.

I don't normally do New Year resolutions since I'm horrible at keeping them, but I guess I could list a few:

  • exercise more
  • read lots of books that I normally wouldn't
  • listen to some good music that's different from my normal playlist
  • write at least once a week (whether they'll be posted on these blogs, I don't know)
  • go out and take more photos!
  • spend less time on the computer procrastinating when I could do something creative instead (maybe 50% of what I do currently)

Hopefully, they'll eventually all come together by December 31st. Maybe if you lovely readers could remind me ever so often? :)

May your year be full of joy,
-K

constellations of thought

the ideas
are glimmering speckles of light
and together they make
constellations;
pictures of stories older than time
depicted upon the black canvas of the
sky.
it's by the stars
that I make my way through the
moonless night;
I'm starstruck by the dazzling lights
that stretch before me in
an endless expanse,
flickering mesmerizingly before my eyes.
and maybe, just maybe,
if I stand on my tippy-toes and stretch,
perhaps I can reach them
and pull a few down
to sift through my hands and pick
which one to change
into the morning sun.

today is Britain's National Poetry Day! the theme is stars, and I thought it'd be fun to do something :)

Two Clocks, Two Hearts

in the days we live,
time is both cruel
and kind;
our separate clocks are ticking
and
washing the pain
and our wonderful memories.
our time together is past us now,
our clocks tap to a different beat,
but it was one of those moments
where we were temporarily in sync
that unveiled the shadows from
my eyes and mind.

is it strange that
only now I see your hand
extended to reach mine?
maybe I blindfolded myself to you
after we parted ways.
a remnant of the string
that bound us ages ago
is still tied to you,
much like how it's
fastened around my wrist;
a constant reminder.
the burning red of the string
is now finally
fading in the sunshine
that shines brilliantly in my eyes.

I start thinking about
the us that we can't go back to
no matter what.
But there's no time for regrets
or what-ifs,
our clocks are ticking away.
I close my eyes against the brightness
and listen to the ticks of our pendulums
drift towards each other.

When they sync,
I take your hand and smile.
We can start a new beginning,
a new friendship,
and walk away from the shadows
together.

hello there! sorry for such the long dry spell over here.
this is based on some real life happenings... my first love and I are...reconnecting you could say, which is very easy to do since we've known each other for so long. to be honest, I'm glad, because I value the friendship I had with him for a long time. this poem was inspired by the song "Answer," which I have recently found and love. watch it at this link, I love the lyrics a lot. you'll see many references in my poem to the song.

just a little update

hi there!

I haven't been on Mindscape for a bit, sorry. school just started a few days ago, I'm writing three separate novels right now, and I've had no poetic inspiration for the last week or so.

I'm hoping to post on here again soon, either with photos or poetry.

in the meantime, come visit my novels! me and my co-authors would enjoy your readership.

until later,

-Kiki
