Teacup

So yesterday, I went to a creative writing conference for "emerging voices" with a friend, which was a lot of fun. I got to attend a workshop on transmedia storytelling (how to create stories people can interact with using 21st century technology) by a couple of people from The Mission Business, as well as two poetry workshops.
One of the poetry exercises I had to do was to describe an emotion using an object as a symbol.
And this is what I came up with:

Ceramic fragile under
fingertips,
handle bowed under its
own weight
it sighs,
routines of days
staining white
edges,
it weeps
as the steam escapes,
others gentle with their touch
cautious of the heat
