Day 1: Hellos

I'm attempting a 30 day poetry challenge! I don't even know how well this is going to go, or if I'm even going to be able to stick with it...but I'll try!

Either way, here's Day 1: a poem about hellos (last minute).

Beginnings are so easy 

to start, 

words slip easily 

off of insincere tongues, 

a conversation tied into a 

tidy package 

so easily thrown away. 

I can never say 

that you had me at 

"Hello," 

a word so threadbare 

that it's no longer

of meaning, 

but it opened 

the path from nothing 

to everything.
